MIDWEST A'S

The Midwest A's proudly play in the Mid-Plains College Summer Baseball League. The A's play its home games at the refurbished Belton, Missouri High School field. The A's are led by a championship-winning coach in Will Rogers. The A's expect their men to play hard, improve and have a fun summer baseball experience. The goal is to offer not only opportunities to play but raise one's baseball IQ as well. It may sound "cliche," but that is our mission. We hope the discipline used to improve ones baseball prowess translates into utilizing that same discipline in life and work. There is no substitute for hard work.

Our team started 27 years ago as the Sharks Little league team. 19 years ago, As the guys aged, the A's entered the Ban Johnson collegiate summer baseball league. The A's then decided to form another Midwest league with hopefully better competition. Due to the hard work of the founding members of the Mid-Plains League, we have made a very nice competitive baseball league.

The Midwest A's have had two different pitchers (Zach Pratt & Dalen Blair) win three "Conner Taylor" Pitcher of the Year awards and two players (Dusty Stroup & Garrett Pennington) earn the Mid-Plains League Player of the Year award.

In 2020, the Midwest A's won its first Cowdin Cup Championship. The A's finished the 2020 regular season with a 19-8 record. The A's defeated the Sabetha Bravos in two games.

2020 was a memorable season for one of the most successful summer collegiate clubs in the Mid-Plains League.

In 2021, the Midwest A's ended the season as runner-ups. The A's stellar season fell short in the Cowdin Cup Championship series against the Junction City Brigade.
