JUNCTION CITY BRIGADE

The Junction City Brigade play in historic Rathert Stadium, developed in 1937 as part of United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal. The field has seen many players that went on to play in college, Minor League Baseball, and even  Major League Baseball. The Negro Leagues Baseball had many stars play at Rathert Stadium, including superstar John Jordan "Buck" O'Neil. Now Rathert Stadium hosts some of baseball aspiring stars - those that play in the Mid Plains League.

A five-time Mid-Plains League Champion, The Brigade were founded by the Junction City Community Baseball Club in 2013. The team's first season was spent as an independent summer collegiate club. The Brigade is one of the founding members of the Mid-Plains League and will look to defend their title in the 2022 season.
